The HOPE Centers Roots
The Hickory Soup Kitchen guests were asked what their biggest barrier towards finding gainful employment was. Their answer was...transportation. We found a way to eliminate that barrier. It started by bringing local staffing agencies and employers to the Hickory Soup Kitchen to work directly with guests.
We now have multiple forms of transportation to transport these guests of the Soup Kitchen to and from their new jobs. This includes the HOPE Center’s van that is driven by volunteers and a Greenway transportation bus that has a dedicated route just for them.
